And whosoever does not repent, then such are indeed Zalimun (wrong-doers, etc. "يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا يسخر" الآية نزلت في وفد تميم حين سخروا من فقراء المسلمين كعمار وصهيب والسخرية: الازدراء والاحتقار "قوم" أي رجال منكم "من قوم عسى أن يكونوا خيرا منهم" عند الله "ولا نساء" منكم "من نساء عسى أن يكن خيرا منهن ولا تلمزوا أنفسكم" لا تعيبوا فتعابوا أي لا يعب بعضكم بعضا "ولا تنابزوا بالألقاب" لا يدعو بعضكم بعضا بلقب يكرهه ومنه يا فاسق يا كافر "بئس الاسم" أي المذكور من السخرية واللمز والتنابز "الفسوق بعد الإيمان" بدل من الاسم أنه فسق لتكرره عادة "ومن لم يتب" من ذلك. Hamz is defamation by action, while Lamz is by words. يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا يسخر قوم من قوم السعدي. «وَلا تَلْمِزُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ» مضارع مجزوم بلا الناهية والواو فاعله وأنفسكم مفعوله. «فَأُولئِكَ» الفاء واقعة في جواب الشرط ومبتدأ. يا أيها الذين آمنوا لا يسخر قوم من قوم.

«الْفُسُوقُ» مبتدأ وجملة بئس خبره. But if a person after affirming the Faith in Allah and His Messenger and the Hereafter earns reputation on account of these base qualities, it is simply regrettable. He hates that nickname. ' If a disbeliever earns reputation for himself for mocking the people, or taunting them, or for proposing evil and offensive titles for others, it may not be a good reputation from the point of view of humanity, but it at least goes well with his disbelief. Slandering and taunting the people and harboring suspicions and spying on others are, in fact, the evils that cause mutual enmities and then lead to grave mischief. The statement of Allah the Exalted,... وَلَا تَلْمِزُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ... Asbabu n-Nuzuul (Occasions of Revelation). «وَلا نِساءٌ مِنْ نِساءٍ عَسى أَنْ يَكُنَّ خَيْراً مِنْهُنَّ» معطوف على ما قبله وجملة عسى مستأنفة. All this is included in mocking. Instead of saying, 'Do not taunt one another", it has been said "Do not taunt yourselves", which by itself shows that the one who uses taunting words for others, in fact, taunts his own self. وقال الأخفش: سخرت منه وسخرت به, وضحكت منه وضحكت به, وهزئت منه وهزئت به, كل يقال. يعيره بها, يعني أما له في الجاهلية, فاستحيا الرجل, فنزلت. It is a different matter that the other person may evade his attacks because of a gentle nature, but he himself has opened the door to mischief so that the other may treat him likewise.
The statement of Allah the Exalted and Most Honored,... بِئْسَ الاِسْمُ الْفُسُوقُ بَعْدَ الْإِيمَانِ... Evil is the name of wickedness after faith, means, the names and descriptions of wickedness are evil; meaning, `to use the nicknames that were used by the people of Jahiliyyah, after you embraced Islam and understood it, '... وَمَن لَّمْ يَتُبْ...
